What to Consider When Installing an Industrial Ventilation System

The environment the duct will operate in (humidity, chemical vapor, temperature) determines the right material: galvanized sheet for general use, cold-rolled (DKP) steel for lines requiring higher mechanical strength, and 304 or 316 grade stainless steel for food production and chemical facilities.

The TS EN 1507 (rectangular) and TS EN 1506 (circular) standards define leakage classes from A to D based on the maximum allowable air leakage of the duct system. A higher class means lower energy loss and a more efficient system.

Self-flanged systems shorten installation time, while bolted (separate) flange systems are preferred for heavy-duty lines requiring higher structural strength.

Hanger and bracket systems placed at intervals appropriate to the building's structural requirements are critical for safely carrying the duct's own weight and any vibration that may occur after installation.
